CryoHeat treated and then Micropolished crankshafts will handle significantly more power while keeping incredible dimensional stability with cooler operating temperatures. Almost zero friction is achieved throughout it’s entire rotating mass by cutting down the windage and heat-causing friction in the bearing journal areas.


Untreated valve springs drop there spring rate very quickly, down to 90% or even as low as 80%. This is taking away valuable valve control at high RPM’s and also causing an inconsistency throughout the RPM range.
CryoHeat treated valve springs perform significantly better than the industry standard valve springs by obtaining its 100% spring rate much longer with much more consistent performance even in extremely high RPM’s and heat. During typical usage, as higher RPM’s are achieved, the spring will actually start to rotate in circles. Without CryoHeat Micropolish this rotation causes friction, and the friction causes the spring to move with a wiggle like the Jell-O effect. The wiggling at high RPM’s is very hard on the spring’s service life and also could be causing valve flotation – robbing the engine of significant power or even causing catastrophic failure. Our CryoHeat Micropolish process makes the springs “slippery when wet”, allowing for a friction-free movement. This allows the spring to perform its duty controlling the valve with precision through any RPM range.

Vapor blasting
Also known as wet blasting or liquid honing, is rapidly becoming the number one choice for applications requiring the highest quality of surface finish. The key to vapor blasting is that the finish is produced through flow of water borne abrasive, giving a finer finish due to the flushing action of the water. No media is impregnated into the component, nor is there any dust created by the break-up of media, unlike dry blasting where the finish is produced by sheer force of media impact.

Magnetic Particle Inspection
CryoHeat uses Magnetic Particle Inspection for a non-destructive testing process. Easily detecting surface and shallow subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, cobalt, and some of their other alloys.
The process puts a magnetic field into the part. The part can be magnetized by direct or indirect magnetization. Direct magnetization occurs when the electric current is passed through the test object and a magnetic field is formed in the material. Indirect magnetization occurs when no electric current is passed through the test object, but a magnetic field is applied from an outside source. The magnetic lines of force are perpendicular to the direction of the electric current.
The presence of a surface or subsurface discontinuity in the material allows the magnetic flux to leak, this occurs because air cannot support as much magnetic field per unit volume as metals can. To identify a leak, ferrous particles are applied to a part. These are attracted to an area of flux leakage and form what is known as an indication, which is evaluated to determine its nature, cause, and course of action, if any.

The CryoHeat Process makes the steel parts in the engine & transmissions 28-30% stronger, depending on the type of steel. Aluminum is 18-21% stronger. Service life is increased 250% or better, saving you repair time and money. The engine parts hold better dimensional stability and greater heat dissipation allowing them to run cooler during operation.

The CryoHeat Micropolishing Process speaks for itself! Once treated it has a 2 or less RA (Roughness Average) making the metal move faster than ever with almost zero friction and resistance. With the friction dramatically reduced you will experience little to no heat and drag which slows down the parts reducing the power from the engine. Faster speeds and power gains are achieved with this process. This is better than any coating or other surface treatment hands down! The micropolishing also promotes for even longer service life, cooler operating temperatures, less friction, and greatly aiding towards cleaner lubricant and sometimes showing zero wear on parts even after long term use. This is extremely important with high speed, high torque applications or anything that is going to be raced on and push to its limitations. Racing applications pick up miles per hour and tenths of seconds quicker quarter mile time just by micropolishing moving parts.
